June 16th marks the birthday of Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac & Makaveli. In his 25 years of life, Tupac left behind a legendary legacy. Outside of music, Pac was one of the rappers that paved the way in Hollywood by starring in movies such as Poetic Justice and Juice. But it was his music catalog that left a lasting impression. His unrivaled work ethic left his fans with unreleased verses that are still being dug up to this day. Tupac’s amazing talent allowed him to speak on social issues and have hit radio singles that cemented his immense popularity across multiple platforms at the time. With various classic records and platinum albums under his belt, Pac managed to influence 90% of the rappers since his passing, including major artists in today’s hip hop scene such as Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole.

Unfortunately, he was a victim of a drive by shooting and died from his injuries 6 days later in September 13th, 1996.

This week’s Throwback Thursday playlist is dedicated to an icon, not only in the hip hop world, but in music in general. Here is a 30 track Spotify playlist from the Best of 2Pac’s catalog. RIP Pac.
