Twenty years ago, Tupac Shakur, one of the most influential artists of all time was a victim of a drive by shooting in Las Vegas. His death left a  wound in hip hop that has yet to heal. Due to the success of NWA’s movie, there was bound to be a need to translate Tupac’s larger than life persona on the silver screen. Today, on the anniversary of his death, a new trailer for his official biopic All Eyez On Me has been released.

The trailer features an ominous look at key moments in the life of Tupac Shakur which include his rise to fame, imprisonment, the shooting at Quad Studios, and finally his downfall. Judging by the trailer, Demetrius Shipp Jr does an excellent job at portraying the infamous 2Pac attitude and mannerisms. Danai Gurira (from The Walking Dead) joins the cast as Afeni Shakur; and Jamal Woolard, who also played Biggie in the movie Notorious, returns as the Notorious B.I.G.
