The Man Guide had the unique opportunity to get inside Assassin’s Creed and the world of Parkour recently via an interview with Danee Marmolejo. Danee is a global parkour and freerunning expert who consulted on the parkour segments featured in the upcoming film Assassin’s Creed. He’s currently on tour promoting parkour for the film prior to it’s release.

Parkour (aka Free running) is a physical art form that requires intense training, physical strength and mental acuity while leaping, flipping, rolling, grabbing and flowing through urban landscapes. If you’re an action movie fan you’ve probably seen it in flicks like: District B13, Casino Royale, The Bourne Legacy, Live Free or Die Hard and many others. Just to be clear there are no wimps doing parkour. It take a lot of nerve to jump from a great height and hope you’ll make it safely to your next target. If you’re interested in learning the ropes (or adding this movement oriented, body weight training to your regimen), just look for a local parkour or free running group near you.

Don’t forget to catch Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender, in theaters out December 21st, 2016. Check out the trailer below.
